We do not have the capability to house refugees when most of our citizenry is starving, once the government takes them in they will be left to their own devices better to deport them to Bangladesh which accepts them or to Myanmar, but I do agree that this method was horrible and inhumane

India has limited resources, plus India is not a signatory to the 1951 UN Refugee Convention, so it is under no obligation to accept them. It's highly unfortunate, and no one should be treated like that. Myanmar, to this day, refuses to recognize them as citizens.
